Hookah

The different types of Hookahs

Let’s count them and know them. The different types of Hookahs:

1. Anodized Aluminum Hookahs are perhaps the most popular of Hookahs in North America. But you are not to be confused about their popularity with their quality. They are very poor quality hookahs. Manufactured in China, the parts of this hookah corrode and also break down easily. Such hookahs have a colored stem. A hookah which has a standard quality usually has the same color as that of the metal it is made from. These hookahs are very light. It has a cheap plastic-feel to it when you touch.

2. Considered to be the most traditional of the hookahs - Egyptian hookahs. They have tall, slender stems and are available in single metal as well as multi-metal types. Mostly made of stainless steel, copper and brass, these hookahs are surprisingly handmade. These hookahs have evident weld spots on them which devoid them of a clean, spotless look unlike the modern hookahs. Most of such hookahs have wide down-stems which allow them to have a great draw.

3. The Syrian Hookahs are much rarer compared to the Egyptian counterparts. These hookahs are identified by a thin stem and an upward angled hose-spot.

4. Modern Hookahs are the most popular of all the hookahs. Manufactured in bulk, mostly in China, like the Anodized Aluminum Hookahs. These are usually made with brass cores. These can really be heavy.
